Module 4: Yoga Lifestyle
How to live as a yogi in a modern and hectic society? This course aims to give you a better understanding of yoga life style, and offer a practical way to become a modern yogi. We will also go into details of the various aspects of the ‘sixteen points’ given by our founder Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, and analyze the ancient Astaunga Yoga: Yama (Social Harmony), Niyama (Personal Development), Asana (posture), Pranayama (breathing), Pratyahara (withdrawal of mind), Dharana (concentration techniques), Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi (the ultimate goal of yoga). You will also learn the yogic system of food and fasting.

Yoga is so much more than just “bend and stretch.’’ The modern yogi is a responsible person and is willing to contribute to the welfare of the society. Module 9: Yoga and Creativity
Creativity is a mental process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations between existing ideas or concepts, and it originates from the deeper layer of the mind called atimanosa kosa, or ‘causal mind’. Human desire for mental expansion and realisations also originates in this layer of mind. By engaging oneself in creative expression through arts, music, dance etc, one’s atimanosa kosa develops.
This module will partly be conducted in workshop style to allow your ‘creative juice’ to flow freely. You will experience Mandala Art, Bhajans (devotional songs), Prabhat Samgiita (devotional music for mental expansion). We will also study the life and work of mystical artists such as Rabindranat Tagore, Mira Bai and Kabir.
Module 10: Thesis (Independent project)
This module aims at giving the student a deeper understanding of a chosen topic of yoga aspects through research and writing.
