Acarya Shankar’san’ananda

Dada Shankar has been the in-charge of AMYS since 2001. Dada underwent the ancient yoga Acarya training from 1997 – 2000 and is well versed in all the major yogic disciplines. He has a broad background in Astaunga yoga (Raja yoga), Raja-Dhi-Raja yoga and Sahaj yoga, with a special passion for meditation. Dada is a passionate teacher and his classes are reflecting his personal experiences and yogic wisdom.



Adideva began his yogic journey in 1995. Even though he was still strong and physically healthy, he felt empty inside and started to ask: “what is the purpose of life?” In 2004, he changed his course and became a nutritional consultant and published the book; “Stop Your Health Being Stolen”. Adideva is among our outreach teachers, sharing his experiences and techniques with corporate students in various organizations. He specialize in counterbalancing the ill-effects of working issues such as stress, stiffness, compromised immunity, and weight problems. He is also currently among our senior citizens trainers having shown great success in improving their health and mobility, and has taught regular lessons in several elderly homes.



Amy got her Ananda Marga Yoga Teacher Certification 4 years ago and has been teaching since then. Her yoga practice has slowly moved from the physical level to a more spiritual level during the past 10 years and her class reflects a fine balance between the two. Amy is known for being a very cheerful, patient and truthful teacher who is dedicated to share her love and passion for yoga to the world.



Kamal is of the opinion that the teachings of yoga is the greatest gift one can receive in our lifetime. Embracing the yogic journey in his early twenties, he discovered the tradition of Raja Dhi Raja Yoga at Ananda Marga Yoga Society. With a special enthusiasm for meditation and spiritual philosophy, Kamal was initiated into the mystical science of Tantra Yoga and Sahaj Yoga under his master Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. After becoming a certified teacher from Ananda Marga Yoga Academy he specialized in Raja Dhi Raja Yoga and Astaunga Yoga as taught by Patanjali. Kamal affirms that teaching is where true learning begins and loves to share his knowledge with his students.



Lilian’s yoga journey began in 2005 when she walked into a yoga class without exactly knowing what yoga is all about. She walked out of the class feeling completely relaxed and knew her life would never be the same again. She soon went on pursuing a Diploma in Yoga Science, Practice and Lifestyle and is today a certified yoga teacher from the Ananda Marga Yoga Academy. Lilian believes that yoga is suitable for everyone and enjoys adjusting and modifying the poses to suit differing needs of her students. She feels great sense of satisfaction seeing students completely relaxed after their practices and has quickly gained popularity as a compassionate teacher.



Shukla has proven to be an exemplary teacher who is passionate about her teaching. Her main passion, since 2006, has been on teaching Kids Yoga and currently, she also conducts sessions for adults that include students from ages 13 & above. She cares deeply for all her students and puts in good effort for their self-development. She conducts her kids’ class in a fun and creative manner which the children thoroughly enjoy. Students always look forward to attend her yoga class because of her cheerful and approachable nature. She’s a highly competent teacher who’s reliable & is a positive role model for young students.



Shanta is an known figure in the local yoga scene and have been teaching in various centers over the years. Her teachings reflect wisdom and are very warm and motherly. In her own words: “The body is the temple of the spirit, and when the body, mind, and breath are in balance and harmony, the inner light can shine. Yoga philosophy believes that the spirit is Infinite, and that the true nature of all beings is peaceful and blissful. I believes in this and walk the path…. ”



Supriya is not only an accomplished yogi but also an artist and an Art Lecturer and her teachings are therefore naturally infused with creativity and innovation. Her real passion is to bring Art and Yoga together and most importantly, to make her students benefit from these wonderful aspects of living. Her interest in Yoga started ten years ago and have since been studying at various Yoga Schools such as Sivananda, Vivekananda and Ananda Marga Yoga Academy. She have today moved on to become among the lecturers in our yoga academy where she teaches the module of ‘Yoga and Creativity’.
